The internet's fly pattern encyclopedia.

There's no shortage of fly fishing content online — but finding accurate, organized, comprehensive pattern information in one place? That gap is what ViseVault was built to fill.

Fly tying is a craft with centuries of accumulated knowledge. Patterns passed down from tier to tier, techniques developed on the water, materials sourced from every corner of the globe. Yet for most anglers, discovering and referencing that knowledge means stitching together fragments from blogs, YouTube, old magazines, and dog-eared books.

ViseVault was created for fly tyers by fly tyers.

The idea came from a simple passion — discovering new patterns, learning their history, tying them, and then trying them on the water. Fly tying has made fly fishing that much more enjoyable. But the process of keeping track of it all? Pages of spreadsheets and sticky notes of flies tied, flies to tie, and materials needed. There had to be a better way.

Before tying nights with friends, the routine used to be wading through Google searches, YouTube videos, Reddit forums, and old books. Now it's one click and ready to sit down at the vise. ViseVault has become a source of inspiration for ongoing tying quests — and that's exactly what it was built to be.

ViseVault was built to change that. We set out to create the definitive digital encyclopedia of fly patterns — structured, searchable, and deep enough to be genuinely useful to both beginners sitting down at the vise for the first time and lifelong tiers looking up a pattern they've never tried.

Every pattern in ViseVault includes a complete tying recipe, step-by-step instructions, material list, and where possible, attribution to the original tier or designer. We believe the history behind a pattern is part of its value.

What we believe.

ViseVault is built and maintained by ViseVault LLC, a Colorado company. The app is available on iOS, with more platforms on the horizon.
